2015 Entry Terms and Conditions
- The prize money of $25,000 is to be awarded to the artist of the single winning entry. This National acquisitive prize is for a painting inspired by the Australian Landscape, painted in the last 12 months and not previously exhibited at an art prize.
- NON ACQUISITIVE PRIZES. In addition to the main prize, UNSW Art & Design will offer a selected artist the opportunity to create a limited edition print, plus a $2000 prize will be presented to the honourable mention recipient and a $1000 gift certificate from The Sydney Art Store will be presented to the highly commended recipient. A further selected artist will win a 2 week artist retreat at Sofala Cottage.
- The PADDINGTON ART PRIZE is open to Australian citizens or residents of 12 months or more who are over the age of 18. Finalists may need to provide identification if requested.
- Marlene Antico and members of her immediate family are ineligible to enter.
- Online Entries must be submitted by midnight Saturday 19th September 2015. Images should be a minimum of 1000 x 750 pixels at 72 dpi or greater. File size of each image not to exceed 2MB. File name/s should correspond with the title of the work/s on the entry form.
- SELECTED FINALISTS PAINTINGS ONLY must be delivered on Monday 19th October 1pm -5pm SHARP, to PADDINGTON ART PRIZE, 111-113 Queen Street, Woollahra, NSW 2025. (entrance via Dorhauer Lane) NO CRATES PLEASE
- A $50 (incl. GST) entry fee shall be paid for a single work entry and $90 (incl. GST) for a two work entry. Payment can be by PayPal or cheque/money order made payable to The Paddington Art Prize. No receipts will be given. Your automated PayPal response, is your receipt.
- A limit of two works per artist can be submitted.
- Entry fee is non-refundable and contributes to administration and handling.
- A Painting must not be larger than 1.5 x 2 metres including frame (or equivalent size/area ratio). A Painting can consist of multiple parts but must not exceed overall size limits. Media used may be oil, acrylic, watercolour, mixed media/collage or pastel.
- SELECTED FINALISTS PAINTINGS must be CLEARLY MARKED on the reverse with the artist's name, address, contact details, the title of the work, medium, size and the current retail price (incl. GST); and FULL COLLECTION DETAILS. All paintings must be available for sale.
- The Paddington Art Prize, Marlene Antico and its agents will exercise all due care with the works submitted, but will not be responsible for any loss or damage suffered whatsoever to any art work while in transit or under its control. Each entrant shall indemnify the PADDINGTON ART PRIZE, Marlene Antico and its agents against loss or damage suffered to his/her art work whatsoever. Each artist is responsible for his/her own insurance cover.
- All artists selected as finalists authorise The Paddington Art Prize and Marlene Antico formally and irrevocably, to publish their works free of copyright, totally or partly, in all publications (catalogues, folders, posters, slide shows, brochures etc) related to this art prize, as well as on the official website or social media.
- The Paddington Art Prize reserves the right to exhibit the SELECTED FINALISTS' ARTWORK ONLY for the exhibition period. All exhibited artworks not sold during this period MUST BE COLLECTED on Monday the 2nd of November 2015 between 9am to 1pm SHARP! from PADDINGTON ART PRIZE, 111-113 Queen Street, Woollahra, Sydney, NSW 2025. (entrance via Dorhauer Lane)
- The artist appoints The Paddington Art Prize and Marlene Antico as the sole and exclusive agent of the painting entered into the Prize for a period of four months from the date of the close of the exhibition. The Paddington Art Prize commission is 40%. In the case where an artist has been represented by a sole exhibiting commercial gallery within Australia for more than a year, the PADDINGTON ART PRIZE will shared the commission equally ONLY with artisit's the Nominated gallery.
- The judges' decision is final on all aspects of awarding the Prizes, and no correspondence or appeal will be entered into or considered.
- A decision by a majority of the judges on any issue shall be deemed to be a valid and binding decision of the judges as a whole.
- SELECTED APPLICANTS ONLY will be notified on THURSDAY 25TH SEPTEMBER 2015 via phone/e-mail or on the official website www.paddingtonartprize.com.au.
- Freight costs and all other charges relating to delivery and collection of artworks entered into the Paddington Art Prize are the sole responsibility of the artist. Artworks will not be accepted unless delivered and returned free of all freight and other charges.
- ON LINE ENTRIES will be accepted no later than midnight 19th of September 2015.
- The winning artist will be offered the opportunity to create a limited edition, high quality digital print of their winning painting, subject to their approval.
- For 2015, each completed entry is automatically placed into the draw to be randomly selected to win a signed, limited edition print by Tony Costa of his winning painting "Fallen Tree Port Hacking RNP" from 2014.
